Mrs. Stone’s Fifth Grade Class

The following is a list of rules for 5-S. The rules work best when we are all on the same page.  Therefore, I ask you to review these rules and consequences and discuss them with your child.

Rules

1.  Be respectful of other people’s feelings and property.

2.  Use appropriate voices and language

3.  Work and play safely

4.  Be polite and follow the golden rule

Logical Consequences

As in baseball:
1.  Strike 1 (Gentle Reminder)

2.  Strike Two ( Write a behavior plan)

3.  Strike Three (Behavior plan goes home.  Logical Consequence decided at recess) Parents may be called and/or principal may be involved depended on the behavior.

*Logical Consequences-Any or all of steps one through three could be skipped depending on the seriousness of the behavior.

*Behavior Plan-If students receive three “strikes’ in a day, a behavior plan will be written and sent home and/or an email or call will be made.  If you receive one, please send it back signed the following day with any additional comments if needed.

*Reward Systems-Students are rewarded for exceptional social and academic behavior.  Children are able to earn “Stars” for good behavior , good work habits, and/or good academic performance. The class can change in 20 “Point” for one ribbon award on the class chart.  When there are 20 ribbons on the chart, the class can choose a whole class reward activity.
